"Road less traveled?" One theory of mine is that it might be from having an overly dominant pairing combined with tons of vitriol aimed at any other character that would possibly get in the way, that might discourage people from writing other pairings. Of course this could be from my personal experience from my days in Artemis Fowl fandom.
