Although I don't have any specific recs to offer, in light of your post I should mention that buffyversetop5 is a seasonal recs community that has been running since 2005, so there are a lot of Buffyverse (and a small number of other Whedonverse) fanworks that have been recced there. There are a lot of tags to check out and one can also use the search box there to look for specific things.
