Fic because of actors

Is there a general term for the sort of thing represented by "Teninch" fic, where people put together random characters played by Billie Piper and David Tennant other than Rose and the Doctor? I have been browsing Hitchhiker's Guide fic for a couple of days and have run across both Sherlock and Khan in fics which I therefore assume have Martin Freeman's Arthur Dent in mind, since they have both been played by Benedict Cumberbatch.

Everett Ross is in the CIA as is/was Sharon Carter (since I can't say she still is after getting Steve and Sam their gear back) while General Thunderbolt Ross was/is Army and played most recently by William Hurt. (Which means we could have some sort of crossover between Sneakers and Children of a Lesser God, or any other two movies.)

Though, Smaug and Gollum having a caper hinging on a degrees of separation would be quacktacular. (Since Freeman and Gollum's actor were the Tolkien white guys in Black Panther, and BC played Smaug as well as Sherlock Holmes.)

Is there a Comedy of Errors that's Science Fiction Fan-nip? (CF the Hamlet where Patrick Stewart, Lala Ward, Glitz's actor and probably many more are studded in the BBC production.)

Now I want Sam Carter & Sharon Carter fic. Or, Sam Carter and Sam Wilson. Chris Evans and Amanda Tapping could do a project together.
