Ii! I'm very new to dreamwidth, and i saw that this community is good for newbies to learn how they work. Which is good, because i don't know how they work yet.

One of my favourite fandoms is kaleidotrope, a fiction podcast, scripted, and i am hoping that there's other people here who like it besides the one person i managed to convince to go here from the kaleidotrope discord. If there's nobody here who likes it yet i might as well try to convince people to listen to it.

Kaleidotrope is set up as the fictional radio show of a college in a nebulous place in the US. The initial host of the show is annoyed as we start, as he has been told he'd be joined by a cohost today, and he's late. On his very first day. The new cohost is very bubbly and joyful, and makes the show from a music show into a show where people text in for advice on their love lives. Prudent, because on the Sidlesmith campus there's magic at work that makes everyone fall into a typical fanfic trope eventually... which is of course total bullshit according to Drew.

I struggle a lot with differentiating voices sometimes, and if you do too you'll be glad to know that for most of the podcast, the only 2 voices we hear are of the main characters, and one of them is british and the other american, so i find their voices easy to distinguish.

I'm open to being told more about how to use communities and dreamwidth in general, and to being told whether i'm using it correctly now. Also fielding questions about kaleidotrope if i've intrigued you but you wanna know more!!
