It's really damn poetic that we have collectively decided that the winner is a bunch of little tiny fandoms that couldn't do it on their own coming together in a group. Really understanding the spirit of this community! :D Good job!

Second place is Star Trek.

Third place, winning in the runner-ups round against Doctor Who - although interestingly, winning with exactly the same number of votes as Star Trek's second place finish - is Star Wars. So we've successfully not solved that long-standing rivalry either.

Thanks for playing along, everyone! It was a good way to spend a week and a half in a hot July!

I kept meaning to go through the full fandom list and find ones that have themselves been in Yuletide or have a subfandom of theirs in yuletide. Off the top of my head, OFMD was never eligible, Original Work/No Fandom aren't eligible (except when we consider all the memes that are in yuletide that get put into Original Work), and I don't think any Harrys Potter have snuck in. But Star Wars, Star Trek, and Doctor Who have all made it into yuletide, and IIRC Good Omens ineligibled itself via yuletide years before the show came out.

I feel like this is entirely the appropriate outcome. Yuletide has something for everyone! From epilogues to 20-year-old books to entire extra Shakespeare plays to dramatic explorations of 30-second commercials, Yuletide is full of wonders.

What an utterly perfect list! We're certainly an old school group here, but it's rewarding to have the little fandoms (and the way most of us come into fandom by loving a book/story/show just so damn much that we want more of it) first. And ST, SW, DW are great runner ups, all 3 of them!!!
