Does anyone else feel this way? Like the fanworks would get attention for unwanted/unintended reasons. Or involved a source material/pairing/topic you'd rather not promote, but you can't get rid of the bunny any other way than doing the fanwork. For me, the big ones are Rooster Teeth media, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, romantic pairings straight or gay (unfair attention either way), and plain old-fashioned cowardice. Thoughts?

Date: 2018-12-07 02:02 am (UTC)I have a couple of stories on my hard drive which I have written, and which I seriously doubt I'll ever post publicly. Not because they're objectively "bad". But rather because as far as I'm concerned, they're actually invasive of the privacy of one of the characters, going into spaces my conception of the character would rather keep to themselves. So they sit there on my hard drive, and every so often I look at them, and go "should I?" and every single time so far the answer has been "nope, I don't want to do that to $CHARACTER_NAME".
