fictional_fans | Stop the presses and point me to fan fiction!

Among the banter over AO3 getting nomination for a Hugo, the retrospective 1944 Hugo nominations has gotten short shrift. (Look, I'm trying to find something else, but really, this is intriguing.) Has anyone written fan fiction of characters that would have been interested/are retrospectively interested if events of the day had not been too occupying? Or, say far future characters noting that we are so extra?

Please. Think of this as a rare (ish) time I'm not committing crossovers and am just instigating ignoring the fourth wall.
