So I recently read all of the Winnix tag for Band of Brothers, in order written, excluding AUs, and I come bearing recs. I will admit a bias to h/c and angst, but they all have happy endings.

Summary: Dick gets a concussion. Lew takes care of him, and some feelings bubble to the surface. He wants his best friend in a way he can’t understand, but needs to learn.
Rec: Reccing a couple stories by this author. She has a great touch for mixing sensual, closely-observed details with humour, and the results are always very sweet.

Summary: Hurt/comfort in Bastogne as Dick and Lew inch closer together. Dick has trouble shaving. Lew has trouble of his own. Here in the black belly of the frozen earth, Dick thinks he must be dreaming again.
Rec: Probably my favourite huddling for warmth in Bastogne fic. Gorgeous h/c and intimacy and great banter. If you like this, there's a longer sequel where Nix gets kidnapped that I'd also rec.

He never did break in Bostogne, was too cold, too annoyed, too far back from the line, but he saw the same horrors as every other man who was there and they come back on him now, a year later and an ocean away, with a vengeance.
Rec: In the very popular nightmares after the war category, we have... I love the intensity of feeling in this, how Dick doesn't want comfort, and Nix needs to be able to provide it.

Rec: Where Dick finds Nix in the arms of another soldier, and mutual pining, sulking and awkwardness follow. I'm not always into jealousy fic, but this one is very sweet.

Summary: Dick could take a little tedium for the sake of the men, and he could take a hint of moral turpitude for Nix.
Rec: Probably my favourite of the stories that follow the course of the show. It's got a series of gorgeous images and moments that stuck with me out of all the fic I just read. Rereading it now, I was like, Oh that bit! That's my favourite! about four different times. It's intense and intimate. It also focuses on Nix's drinking more than some fic, as a heads up. I haven't read the rest of the series yet.

Summary: Roe says it’s just temporary, but it’s hard to focus on that as he watches Nix, listless on the bed, eyes wide and unseeing. Dick has been standing at the foot of the bed until he can trust his voice to be calm. He’s glad he told Harry to wait. He needs to do this alone; he’s worried that his face will betray the depth of his feelings, and that’s a complication they could all do without.
Rec: Amnesia fic! My favourite! This is really sweet and hits all the right notes.

Summary: The first time he properly meets Dick Winters, it’s two weeks into training at the brand new OCS at Fort Benning. Lew is coming back from a long night of attempting to chase down something resembling fun in Columbus. It’s past five, the sun won’t make an appearance for another hour or so, and there’s a red-headed weirdo swimming in the cold waters of Upatoi Creek.
Rec: Wonderful first meeting fic with their early relationship in OCS and Nix realising he's completely sunk forever. The relationship is both intense and sparely written, and it's gorgeous.

Summary:Is this how Lew feels about whiskey, Dick wonders? A thing so many people wouldn’t approve of, a thing against which there are rules, but somehow, a thing for which you find a reason to ignore the rules.
Rec: Repression and sex, at the same time. I love how long it takes them to actually work out what they're feeling in this one, even though they've been feeling it so intensely for so long.

Rec: Another look at the period between OCS and Toccoa, with Nix realising what he wants (mostly Dick Winters). Partly written in letters.

Ha, I accidentally binge watched it and then read the entire pairing tag for my OTP. There's lots of stuff for the other characters too (I just like Winters the best).

I've of course discovered a mostly dead fandom. Oh well.

I think I've mostly read/written in the adjacent fandom, The Pacific, which came out a decade after BoB (but it's also pretty dead.)

Ha, the funny thing is that the first time I heard of BoB was because of HH fandom with the actor crossover (not that Bamber had much to do in it). It took me this long to get around to watching it. I haven't seen The Pacific though. I have trouble with war shows because I'm really bad at telling faces apart.
