Musicals are my LIFE right now and I never thought I'd get to be the kind of person who saw them live but Broadway being shut down is seriously bumming me out... My absolute favorite is Spongebob the Musical (which you should definitely give a chance before judging it, I know it sounds very strange), followed by Groundhog Day...

I was really into Les Miserables back in 2012 when the movie came out but didn't have the chance to see it live until this year. And wow! Usually when I go back and see stuff I used to be into I sort of just feel this sense of nostalgia and wonder how I ever thought it was The Absolute Best Thing Ever, but no...Les Miserables blew me away all over again. The music is just...I don't even have words. And similarly I used to be into Hamilton and can probably still recite most of it from memory. Still haven't gotten to see that one yet, haha. Maybe one day.

Other than those I have just sort of a general appreciation for Ordinary Days, Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins, Waitress...and also really anything by Irving Berlin or the Gershwins. It's sort of odd because musical theater has a certain following around it where you're expected to know and appreciate all the classics, but I didn't really have exposure to it until the past few years so I feel a bit out of place in the wider scene sometimes. :x Still, that won't stop me from enjoying them.

As for fanvids, I love them and would love to make more someday, but the only one I've ever really done is here: youtu.be/kzkZxmMDWlA which you might like if you're into Black Sails. I was into the show while listening to The Oh Hellos' discography so they became tied together in my mind. I think the lyrics and mood generally fit the show pretty well though, in a way.
