[personal profile] fred_mouse posting in [community profile] fictional_fans

I'm looking for a community dedicated to meta* that I can post the occasional linkspam to, where I wouldn't be posting against the current rules. I did some poking around, which I documented in a post on my blog. [community profile] fandom_meta looked promising, until I read the posting rules, and realised it is for posting links to one's personal meta posts. [community profile] meta_warehouse might be suitable, but again, the focus is meta, not links.

Does anyone know of anything suitable? It doesn't have to be active -- I'm happy to just start posting into the void, and see what happens. At the very least, I'll have a record of the interesting things I found to go back and look at :)

* for those who haven't previously encountered the term, 'meta' here is used to refer to non-fiction fannish writing. There might be more specific definitions, but I like the broad brush inclusive option.

It is absolutely fine to go to [community profile] meta_warehouse and say "here's some links to cool meta I found".

You're welcome! I know that linkspams aren't explicitly mentioned in the profile, nor in the sticky entry on top of the Recent Entries page, so it can be confusing. The only helpful mention on the profile is: "You can post links to other people's meta--or better yet, to your own post where you readalong and respond to that meta!" (which is buried relatively far down). But it's definitely allowed, and a number of people have made use of this. Besides, the Sticky is from 2019 and probably a bit out of date. Back in ye olden days we did have active meta newsletters that were almost entirely linkspams, with only a choice quote to accompany links, and for many people that is something they miss and would like to have again (not everyone is a prolific meta writer, but we're all interested in finding interesting discussions, especially - though not exclusively - on Dreamwidth.)

Just wanted to suggest that a regular recs community would make sense too, so maybe [community profile] recthething?

This is so relevant to my interests! I subscribed to the feed you linked in your posts and some of the inactive communities (and some of them I was already subscribed to). Every once in a while I go "I need more meta in my life" and every time I find no active comms, same as you. Now I have hope for [community profile] meta_warehouse. *fingers crossed* (I know you made a new post there, but so far I'm not familiar with any of the fandoms.)
