I closed the polls on the hour exactly because several of the races were still very close. Avatar: The Last Airbender has defeated Good Omens by 1 vote exactly, and Original Work beats OFMD by 3.

I guess all polls going forward will close at 12 PM EDT exactly to remove the temptation for me to close them at an auspicious moment.

So here is Round 3, the last sixteen fandoms, the Octo-Finals! You can tell I'm getting a little punchy with the descriptions!

Actually I think DC is the only major comics publisher that's never had the Star Wars license. Huh.

She-Ra has defeated Les Mis so I suppose by law of conquering, I must vote for it in this round. (Also I know slightly more about it than Stranger Things, of which all I know is there a character called Eleven, because all fandoms must have a confusing character name overlap, sure, but it's usually not a number)

An extremely valid reason to vote against a fandom!

Looks like Witcher v Original Fiction is the only close race at the moment — everything else is surprisingly decisive!

In the interest of tipping the scales: what’s everyone’s favorite original fiction fics? Recently I’ve been enjoying the Shivadhverse series by [personal profile] copperbadge which is a collection of light hearted romance novels set in a fictional European micronation.

ALSO, TWO MORE:

Mirror City (70000 words) by nirejseki
Chapters: 11/11
Fandom: Original Work
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Group: Spirit of the city/Its favorite human - Relationship, Seir Astikai/Jan Tarlo
Additional Tags: Mystery/Procedural, Worldbuilding, Political Intrigue, Eastern European Fantasy, Historical Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Golems, Age Difference, Mentor/Protégé, Pining, Assassins & Hitmen, Found Family, Period Typical Attitudes Towards Race and Religion, Mentions of Race and Religious Violence
Summary:

Murder gets treated relatively lightly in Volyne, but that's only to be expected given that it shares it's borders with Mirror City - which is just as often called Murder City, home of the country's finest assassins, where each and every mirror can be used to scry into someone's life in order to figure out how best to kill them.

But when a woman's dead body is found in just the right place to cause a riot that will draw in his friends, Jan Tarlo - who swore years ago to stop making bad decisions, or indeed any decisions whatsoever - gets drawn into a web of political intrigue that forces him further and further back into his past.

Back to Mirror City.

The Fox's Grief (38617 words) by nirejseki
Chapters: 9/9
Fandom: Original Work
Rating: Not Rated

Relationships: Beautiful Detective With Peerless Martial Arts/Frail Secret Spymaster He‘s Trying To Seduce, Lin Ronghu/Jing Fengchu
Additional Tags: Mystery/Procedural, vaguely ancient China, Secret Identity, Politics, Age Difference, Royalty, Murder, Bureaucracy, Asthma, Rescue
Summary:

No one in their right mind would ever seriously try to woo Lin Ronghu, the Emperor's infamously ruthless (if unofficial) spymaster.

Not that that's stopped the local legend, a (self-described) beautiful detective with peerless martial arts. His crush is a major inconvenience - at least until there's a murder that puts Lin Ronghu's most hated political nemesis straight in the frame. Since Lin Ronghu can't believe that anyone would be that stupid, he decides that maybe having a private detective around might be good for something after all...
