Does anyone have something that they would have loved to see in canon that they wouldn't necessarily entrust to a fanfic writer? (No offense intended to those who write missing scenes fanfic and the like.)

For me, as an Animorphs fan, I would have loved Chronicles books focused on the Taxxons, Pemalites and Chee. Along with an expanded edition of Visser with some time spent on Visser Three. (Partly to see what the inner workings of Yeerk society is like, partly so the cover doesn't lie.)

Also, for the Mega Man franchise, something to bridge the gaps in between individual game series. I always find myself wondering what happened to the rest of the cast in between the Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero series, and would like to see a game set during the Elf Wars.

(Sorry for the edit, i forgot some things)

I wish J.R.R. Tolkien had been able to finish the full, expanded version of the Fall of Gondolin whose starting pages are published in Unfinished Tales. His late son, Christopher Tolkien, did a wonderful job of pulling together the various text versions of Children of Hurin, but, alas, there was only the original early epic poem, and the fairly terse summary in The Silmarillion for the full story of the Fall of Gondolin.

Speaking of literal canon, I wish that someday archaeologists or librarians find copies of all those missing chronicles mentioned in the Old Testament: you know, the ones where the chronicler of 1 & 2 Kings or 1 & 2 Chronicles says "and the rest of his deeds are recorded in the Chronicles of Blah-blah-blah"... and said chronicle has not survived to the present day.

Whatever Tolkien's publishers may have thought at the time, I'm sure now there are plenty of people who would be glad to read both epic-poem and prose versions of the material!
